The manifesto
Nothing
to hide.
Makeshift Apparel is the apparel division of Makeshift Software — the venture studio behind Senpai, ThunderTruck, and Makeshift Furniture. We build garments the way software gets built: cut apart, recombined, shipped.
Every piece starts as opposing panels — ash against charcoal, blood against onyx — joined by an exposed X-stitch we refuse to hide. The seam is the signature. Footwear runs on the Wraith chassis: sculpted translucent outsoles, bolted hardware, zip entries. The machine stays visible.
How it's built
01 / Cut
Opposing panels
Colorways are cut on the bias into mirrored panels — never printed as one flat graphic.
02 / Split
Recombined bodies
Panels are reassembled across the center line: four quadrants, two attitudes, one garment.
03 / Stitch
Exposed X-seam
The join is sewn with a heavy X-stitch and left raw at the edge. It will fray. That is the point.
04 / Machine
Wraith chassis
Footwear gets the translucent sculpted sole and bolted plates — hardware as ornament.
Shipping & returns
Free US shipping on orders over $150; flat $8 under that. International calculated at checkout.
30-day returns on unworn items in original condition. Tees: wash once and the distressing is yours forever. Footwear must pass the clear-sole inspection.
